Abstract This study was carried out on 50parients with symptoms suggestive of chronic prostatitis such as irritative and obstructive voiding symptoms pelviperineal pain and sexual symptoms their urine contained less than 5 puscells/ pf each patientwas exposed to the following : hisory asregard age marital sate complaint ec prostatic examination for tenderness size and consistency and laboratory investigations afterhistory taking and clinicalexamination prostaticmassage was done andtheezpressed prostatic secretionwas subjected to the following tests :1-microscopic examination for pus cells rbcs and parasites.2-culture on blood agar and maconky medium under aerobic conditions. 3- testfor chlamydia trachomatis antigens using direct immunofluorescence Blood sample was drawn from each of the patients for detection for lgg antichlamydial antichlamydial antibodies using elisa method the resul of the presnt sudy showed that : the age of the patients ranged between 24-53 years witha mean age of (37.1 +-8.05)Sexual symptoms (mainlypremature ejaculation week erection and and frequency and urgency)were the most predominant clinical presentaion in patients with chronic prostatits we concluded that clamydia trachmatis is an etiological agent in chornic prostaitis either solely or in combinationwioter bactria heir role in inferility needs furter studies. |
