Abstract

Aim of the work
To study the relation between several anthropometric variables and occurance of ischemic heart disease.
Conclusion
The data obtained in this study have shown that IDH occur more frequently in persons with short stature, increased body mass index, peripheral obesity as represented by triceps skin fold and arm circumference and central obesity as represented by sub capsular skin fold, and chest circumference.
In conclusion, the results may indicate that the IHD occur more in shorter persons than taller and also with obesity. Obesity is major risk factors in our locality and affected in the prevalence of IHD. And the non invasive methods like skin fold, body mass index is a good indicators rather than sophisticated methods e.g. C.T. scan and give the same results and this simplest method for detection of obesity in a risky persons.
