Abstract

The aim of the work is to:
1- Study of sites, pattern and prevailing pathogens in patients with renal failure.
2- Detection of B-Lactamase production by the isolated organisms.
3- Estimation of the MIC of antibiotics especially recent antibiotics of isolated organisms.
We conclude from this study that:
Prior to the advent of chronic hemodialysis a terminal of preterminal event in patients with end stage renal failure.
During the last decade, better hemodialysis techniques coupled with general advances in medical therapy have improved the prognosis. Nevertheless, infectious complications continue to be a major medical threat to patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis. It is unquestionable that the most common type of infections are those related to the blood access device, other sites of primary infection are; pulmonary, urinary tract and intra-abdominal.
It is important to treat infection promptly and rapidly to avoid death or increasing renal failure.
