Abstract The aim of this study is to evaluate the role of laparoscopy as method diagnosis of surgical acute abdomen and studying the results of laparoscopic treatment of acute abdominal emergencies. Lastly, to rule out the advantages, and encountered complications. The overall final results included 11 cases of laparotomy following diagnostic laparoscopy, 8 cases of conversion, and 1 case of referral after biopsy taking, 2 cases of wound infection managed conservatively and 78 cases of successful laparoscopic procedures without any complications. The post operative course was uneventful after 6 months of postoperative in spite of longer procedure time, laparoscopy is proved to be safe and effective method of diagnosis and management of acute abdominal conditions with the advantages of diagnostic accuracy, small scar, less postoperative pain, and shorter hospital stay which is followed by rapid recovery. |
