Abstract
Aim of the work
The aim of t he work is to spot light upon the usage of laser in Ear, Nose and Throat specialty by collection of what written upon laser beam and its application especially in medicine and in details in Ear, Nose and Throat specialty.
Conclusion
Recently, the combination of an argon ion and a dye laser used with photo-sensitization drugs has shown promise in the treatment of cancer, a technique called photo dynamic therapy, and this represents a non thermal application of laser technology. The use of photodynamic therapy will provide a mechanism of selectively destroying tumors while leaving normal tissue intact.
In Egypt, the progress in laser usage is noticeably very slow, and this may be due to the high cost of the laser and the need for highly practiced physicians. However, we hope that the laser becomes an established technique in surgical practice for its great benefits.
