Abstract aim of the work to evaluate the use of topographic modeling system (TMS-I) in early detection of keratoconus in patients not previously diagnosed clinically and also to look for reliable measurments that could be used to distinguish between normal and abnormal corneas. conclusion in our study, in addition to Rabinowitz-McDonnell parameters, we also used the quantitative descriptors of the corneal topography (sim-K,SRI, SAI) and the refractive data (spherical equivalent, refractive astigmatism, K-astigmatism and average-K). eyes are deemed topographically, abnormal if at least two (instead of one parameter as suggested by Rabinowitz) of these parameters were greater than 3SDs (instead of 2SDs as suggested by Rabinowitz) above the mean values found for the none-keratonic patients. |
