Abstract

Aim of the work
To full discussion of the causes, presentation investigation and treatment of different surgical situations of anal incontinence in details.
Summary
Good results were reported following direct sphincter repair, 24% satisfactory outcome for obstetric or traumatic damage, although a 66% success rate following repair of operative injuries.
Anterior sphincter reefing with or without anoplasty have employed for treatment of all patients irrespective of etiology.
Satisfactory outcome in 71% of patients with traumatic sphincter disruption and 62% of patients with neurogenic faecal incontinence.
The electrical stimulated gracilis neosphincter procedure is promising options for patients with faecal incontinence who are otherwise require a permenant stoma.
