Abstract The present study was conducted for 3 years to detect mite species and helminthes , parasitizing some of the common wild and domestic birds in el-minia governorate. Concerning the infestation rates of the examined birds with mites the study revealed that : - out of the examined hosts , 119 (42.3%) wild and 92 (42.79 %) domestic birds were found to be infested with mites. - Among the wild birds examined , mites were more frequently detected on palm dove , followed by house sparrow and buff-backed heron . - Among the domestic birds examined , mites were more frequently isolated from geese followed by ducks.chickens and pigeons. |
