Abstract
This thesis includes three chapters. The first chapter represents marine pollution, metal pollution, cadmium (its properties, species, effect on human health and cadmium in the marine environment), different methods for removal of cadmium from wastewater, cementation reaction mechanism, surface-active substances (its definition and types). The literature survey on the previous work. The area of investigation is also included in this chapter. The second chapter is devoted for the apparatus used, the procedure of measuring the rate of cementation, the measurements of density, viscosity, and diffusion coefficient of CdSO4 in absence and in presence of SAS at different concentrations. The method of water analysis which are used in determination of the wastewater quality, and the method of sediment analysis are also reported
