Abstract The most important method in the chlor alkali process in the membrane process. In the membrane prossecc, the anolyte and transmits sodium ions but suppresses the migration of hydroxyi ions from the catholyte into the anolyte In this study amodel is developed in order to provide a further understanding to what happens inside the ion exchang membrane. Donnan theory was used to predict ions Concentrations inside the membrane . The Flux Of Different ions Inside the membrane was Calculated using Maxwell Stefan theory, The Model Could determine the transference number Of ions inside the membrane and Conductivity of the membrane with the ionic solution A Sensitivity Analysis was made where Current density was Changed and the corresponding Current efficiency is Calculated ; it was found that the model gives reasonable results that approach the data taken from the plant at same operation conditions. |
