Abstract This study was carried out in soil science dept. of faculty of agric., minia university to evaluate some new synthetic american polymers as soil conditioners and to study their effect on some physical and chemical properties of some soils of Egypt as well as plant growth and up take of nutrients inthese soils The investigated soils were five: sandy, sandy calcareous, clay, clay saline and clay saline sodic soils. The six tested polymers were: three polyacry lamides (PAN) two guar compounds and krilium, krilium, as the oldest famous soil conditioner was used for comparison the PAM compounds were either nonionic with different charge densities (low and high ) the guar compounds were cationic with different charge densities (low and high ) The investigated soils were treated with the tested polymers at three application rates (0.05, 0.1 and 0.2%) and compared with the control (0.0%) |
