Abstract
power line communication (PLC)has been a subject for an importabt research work in recent years due to the widw connectivity and availability of power lines .PLC faces the challenge of harsh and noisy environment inherent in power line channels, which have been origiinally designed for electrical energy delivery and not for communications purposes. this thesis addresses the problem of channel coding or forward error correction (FEC)and interleaving techniques for PLC channels the goal of mitigating some major impairments of these channels.first, amethod for constructing low- density parity check (ldpc)codes of good performance in terms of bit errore rate (BER) IS PRESENTED A MODIFIED shortest path (MSP) ALGORITHMof lower complexity is applied to obtain acode graph of the desired structre .the proposed algorithm works directly on the parity check matrix of the LDPC CODE.
