Abstract Morphological Karyological and electrophoretic studies were carried out on four populations of the nile grass rat arvicanthis niloticus collected in egypt from Al-sharqiya, Al-Minufiya,El-Faiyum and El-Minia localities with the use of live traps baited with tomato and cucumbers and placed in the croplands.the study was aimed to make a survey for all possible forms of this species throughout some poarts of its distribution in egypt on the basis of morphological, allozymic and karyotypic patterns and tocompare the present data with that available in the literatures on A.nioloticus from egypt and other countries and particularly on the ethiopian species,A.dembeensis in an attempt to clarify their relationship. |
