Abstract
The aim of the present work is to collect knowledge about vascular cannulation including the choice of catheter, optimal route of insertion, techniques, indications and complications, in order to be an easily available and helpful guide for anaesthetists and ICU doctors
Cannulation of the vascular system must always be considered as invasive procedure’ which entails significant risks both immediediate and long tem. the operator should have complete informations about the anatomy of the vessel and the surrounding structures and also should be skilled in the technique and familiar with the inductions and complications of each route.
