Abstract

Mobile phones and base stations emit radiofrequency radiation. Exposure to such a radiation could affect human health. RF energy can cause biological effects. These effects from exposure to high power RF sources are due to heating. The effects of this heating range form behavioral changes to eye damage. Recent studies have reported an increased risk of acoustic neuroma with prolonged use of mobile phone (more than 10 years). As regards the potential adverse health effects of base stations, it is concluded that no new study has shown convincing evidence of such effects. There are national and international safety guidelines for exposure of the public to the RF energy produced by mobile phone base station antennas. The most widely accepted standards are those developed by the American national standards institute and Institute of electrical and electronics engineers (ANSI/IEEE).
the aim of this work is to give a spot light on the offect of exposure to the radiofrequency energy emitted from the mobile phones and their base stations on the human health and to find out the possible recommendations.
