Abstract
This thesis includes three chapters; the first of which is a general introduction about microwave and its effect on accelerating the reactions, in addition to some synthetic applications on the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds.
The second chapter deals with the results and discussions on the chemical modifications of some heterocyclic compounds using microwave irradiation (MWI). The work in this thesis has included five main group of compounds; synthesis of quinoline derivatives, synthesis of 6H-indolo[2.3-b]quinoxaline and their derivatives, synthesis of 1.2.4-triazino[5.6-b] indole-3-thiols and their derivatives, synthesis of azlactones, phenylpyruvic acid and 1.2.4-triazine derivatives and synthesis of aryloxyacetic acids, esters and hydrazides as precursors of heterocyclic compounds.
