Abstract
Astuble emuls ified fuel oil was prepared by mixing fuel oil obtained from marine Balaeim petroleum oil with water in presence of tween80 emulsifier the parameters effecting the emulsification process such as tween80 concentration water volume ratio mixing time and mixer speed were examined the mixing tank used was equipped with six flat blade turbine mixer. The change in oil concentration of emulsion with time was determined experimentally and the separated water volume was also measured changes give indictions on the stability of the emulsion the sphysical and chemical properties of emulsified oil were also determined the results show that stability of emulsion increases with increasing tween80 concentration mixing time and mixer speed and decreases with increasing water volume emulsion viscosity changes significantly with changing the mixing conditions the power consumption of the process is also measured under several mixing conditions and it increases with increasing mixer speed the analysis of emulsified fuel oil carried out in a special laboratory furnace indicates an enhancement in the combustion efficency due to mixing water with fuel oil.
A mathematical equation is obtained and found to correlet reasonably all the parameters effection the stability of prepared emulsified fuel oil.
