Abstract
In view of the absence of furnace phoshoric acid industry in Egypt and the necessity of securing a benefit raw material for the production of elemental phosphorus necessary for the phoshorus compounds, the present study is devoted to investigate the possibility of extracting phosphorus from abu-tartur deposit by the electrothermic process. as the Egyptian phosphate rock is characterized by its impurities (Al2o3, Fe2o3 and MgO) combines with the added Sio2 of different phases by the process yielding slags of different composition and characterization.
