Abstract The present work was carried out at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University, A.R.E. during the two successive seasons 1993 and 1994. The aim was to investigate the effects of seven Egyptian cotton varieties (Gossypium barbadense L.) and sowing dates on growth, ealiness, yield and its components in addition to fiber properties. In both seasons, the experimental design was split plot with four replicates. The main plots were randomly assigned to four sowing dates i.e. March 1st , March 15th ,April 1st and April 15th while the seven cultivars were assigned to sub-plots i.e. Dandara, Giza, 75, Giza 80, Giza 83, Giza 85, Giza 77x Giza 45A and Giza 77 x Giza 45B. |
