Abstract
This work deals with the cytological features of Brassica plants cultivated in Egypt. The karyotype meiotic behaviour and amino nacid content were examined in the turnip Baladi (B.rapa) the chinese cabbage chafoo(B.chinensis);the cauliflower orgeval selected (B. oleracea var. botrytis)and the cabbage Baladi(B.oleracea var. capitata).The study also involved the meiotic behaviour of the F1 hybrids obtained from the reciprocal intervarietal crosses between B.oleracea var botrytis and B.oleracea var.capitata.
