Abstract
Sour is the result of the erosive action of flowing water, excavating away material from around oiers and abutments of bridge. Scour is themost common cause of bridge failures . consequently, bridge scour can cause millions of dollars of infrastructure damage, repairs and maintenance, and potential loss of life.
