Abstract

Summary:-Recycling of plants by-products and crop residues to be used as animal feed help food processor to save money and also decrease the environmental pollution. As these by-products likely to be increased in quantity in future because urging to produce more food in today’s world for human consumption. There fore the use of these low quality roughages as corn by- products (green corn and corn stalk) in making silage as a preservation method of green fodder or by chemical treatment of corn stalk improve there nutritive value also as a key for solving some of problems of environmental pollution through its burring and animal feed shortage during summer season.
Experiment (1):
About 100 kg of prepared corn stalks treated by 4% urea and sealed by air tight polyethylene sheets then kept for21 days.
Other 100 kg of prepared corn stalks treated by 4%urea with addition of 5% molasses and sealed by air tight polyethylene sheets then kept for21 days. Six healthy Baladi rams, were used in this work. They were about one year old and nearly similar in body weight (initial average body weight ranged from 30-40kg) they were divided into 3 similar groups (2 rams per each group), each group was housed separately in shaded pen 4*4 meter and randomly assigned to feed experimental rations as following: Group A: fed on concentrates mixture and control diet (berseem hay).
