Abstract
The work presented here is intended to clarify theeffect of underlayer unit weights on the stability of cube armor layer of Rubble-mound breakwater.Small scale model tests on Rubble-mound breakwaters were carried out. The armor layer and underlayer of the breakwater were made of plain concrete cubes. These tests were carried out at the Harbours Laboratory of the Suez Canal Authority Research Center.The test results are presented and analyzed herein.The study shows among other findings, that; at a per-centage of damage between zero and two percent, the weights of the under-layer cubes does not affect the stability of the Rubble-mound breakwaters for the selected range •of tests.
