Abstract
The flat slab is one of the most efficient struc-tural systems.Flat slab can be constructed in min-imum time with minimum field labour because the flat slab utilizes the simples formwork and reinforcing steel layout. Therefore, flat slabs have become increasingly economical and widely used as the cost of field lab-our has increased relative to the materials. They have been applied with particular advantage to multistory apartement buildings, hotels, hospitals, offices, warehouses and schools.The use of flat slab with drop panels req-uire less concrete and reinforcement and can utilize smaller columns than the flat slab without drop.Great efforts have been made during recent years in a search for analysis of plates resting on columns by using finite element method. The finite element method is todays being used intensively for the analysis of structures, triangle element with nine - degrees of freedom is considered.
