Abstract In the present investigation, 90 specimens were co— Leeted from patients in different departements at the exaidria University General Hospital and the Medical Institute Hospital. The specimens were cultured ,rai and selective media. The colonies suspected ,Jrs. aeruginosa were subjected to identification sche— oxidase test, API 20 B systems and cultivation Twenty four typical . aeruKinoca strains were from septic wounds, burns, urine amplea, nasal ear discharges The antibiotic sensitivity of the isolates were de— d using both the serial dilution in liquid medium the agar diffusion techniques. The antibiotics asse— were: Amikin, tobramycin, gentamicin, kanamycin, car— !.cU1in, polymyxin, chioramphenicol, and tetracycline. mong antibiotics tested chioramphenicol and tetra411e exerted the least hacteriostatic activity against the strains irrespective of their source with an iIC value of 400 ug/mi The MIG ‘ange of polyrny— w found. to be 31.3—250 ug/mI. The corresponding tr. kanauycin was 31.3—500 ug/m14 The source of the ts had an effect on the sensitivity of the tested. |
