Abstract The cultivated land is fairly limited in Egypt, Larg¬ely confined to the Nile Valley and the Delta; In addit¬ion, small patches of arable land are scattered all over the country such as oases. The total cultivated area is aJ-Jc)u’-_ 3 percent of the entire territory of Egypt; Con¬sequently, the agricultural expansion towards the desert areas is an essential need to meet the abnormal increase in population. This expansion requires a new source of irrigation beside the Nile water. Such new source could be ground water, for the time being. Many efforts have been made to reclaim virgin lands in various regions of Egypt, such as Wadi El-Natrun depression. This depression receives-a special attention, at present, owing to its water and soil potentialities. Purpose of Research The present research deals with the study of ground water hydrology of Wadi El-Natrun area and the achieve¬ment of the following main objectives: 1: The hydrogeological aspects of the gL’ound water reservoir in Wadi El-Natrun area, considering the following items: |
