Abstract
The ever growing list of discoveries concerning body fluid and its role in the human body hasled to a greatly increased awareness of the importance of maintaining fluid falance in hospitalized patients body fluid disturbances represent the common denomi nator of a host of illnesses certainly every seriously ill patient is a candidate for one or more imbalances and even patients who have only moderate or mild illnesses can develop them therefore it is important that those in nursing and allied health services have a working knowledge of body fluid for the intelligent management of patients.
