Abstract

The present work was carried out in the apiary of the Faculty of Agriculture at El- Arish North Sinai university during January 2003 to December 2004 to determine the spread and distribution of pollen grain which collected by honeybees (Apes Mellifera.L.). The chemical composition of the main sources of pollen were analyzed to determine the main constituents. This work conducted at the Department of Plant Protection at the same Faculty.
The results of this investigation indicated the following points:
5.1.Ecological Conditions at El- Arish North Sinai and Main sources of Pollen:
The main sources of pollen trapped and stored by honey bee colonies were Eucalyptus globosus, Acacia europeal, Deabata olea, Phoenix Dectylife ,Zea maize .L ,Citrus spp .L. The other pollen which collected and stored in the Colonies were observed and classified according its structures, many different flowering plants listed in this work.
5.2.Monthly activity of honeybee workers on pollen
Gathering during the first season (2003):
Six colonies (carniolan bees) were used in this study. Pollen traps of 15 Efficiency were used for pollen collecting in pellets from (January 2003 to December 2004). The amount of first pollen trapped was 154.6 gm, second 297.31 gm and the third 255.6 gm for the first season 2003 and The amount of first pollen trapped was 26.95 gm, second pollen trapped was 261.39 gm and the third 138.3 for the second season 2004 and the total amount of pollen trapped from three colonies in first season (2003) was 705.5 gm .while the amount of pollen trapped from three colonies in second season (2004) was 426.8 gm.
