Abstract The present study has been conducted on a LADA-BA3-2106 engine for the concentrations of hydrocarbon and carbon.anoxide emitted from that engine under idling as well aspart-load conditions. The speed ranges of 600 to 1200 RPM forthe no-load conditions and 1200 to 2000 RPM for the part-load conditions have been investigated. Spark timing has been varied between 20 BTDC to 10 ATDC. Concentrations of HC and 00 emissions have been measured by a portable infrared exhaust gas analyzer. Sample calculations of a mathematical .udel have been compared to the experimental results. The present study shows that increasing engine speeds at no-load aad part-load conditions would decrease HC&CO exhaust -.ission concpnt rati ans. Advanc i ng the spark timing at no load conditions would increase HC&CO exhaust emission CDIlcentrations. Increasing coolant temperature under both iiling and part-load conditions would decrease slightly HC&CO eKhaust emission concentrations. Increasing engine speed at -load conditions would decrease bLowby flow rate of engine. lie blowby flow rate and the concentrations of unburned HC&CO ia the engine blowby would decrease during the warm-up period. |
