Abstract -ild - up factors for monoenergetic Gamma rays having energies between 1 and 10 Mev. have been studied in a single-layered , and in a double-layered media using the Monte Carlo method. All secondary photons and charged particles produced inside the medium were taken into account. The study gave special attention to the contribution of E-remsstrahlung radiation, and handled it in a precise way . The calculations were carried out for Aluminum, Iron, and Lead as ansorbers . The Monte Carlo code was verrified by comparison with the e,--.-Periment. The contributions of Bremsstrahlung is pronounced specially for heavy materials . The results indicate also that a laminated shield with a certain arrangement and a zertain composition may be preferable from the radiation protection point of view. |
