Abstract The wide uncontrolled use of antibiotics in poultry farms specially after the huge expansion of the poultry industry in Egypt in the last decade may cause dangerous hazard to consumer due to antibiotic residues . So the following survey and experiments were performed. 1 )Qualitative detection of antibiotic residues:- Fifty marketed chicken broilers were collected randomly from different poultry markets in Ismailia city samples were taken from liver, kidneys, breast muscles and examined for antibiotic residues by using general inhibitor test at both pH 6.0 and pH 8.0. The incidence of antibiotic residues in the examined samples were 70 % , 42 % , 36 % , 26 % and 46 % , 34 % , 16 010 ,4% respectively. 2) Qualitative detection of (Oxytetracycline, chloramphenicol and streptomycin) residues experimentally :- Forty two healthy chicken broilers were devided to three groups each group contain fourteen chickens. Two from each group were taken as control . The chicken broilers of each of the three groups were injected with single therapeutic dose of oxytetracycline 84 (1 ml/. kg b.wt.), chloramphenicol (1 ml/ kg b.wt.)and streptomycin (1 ml/ kg . b. wt.) intramuscularly respectively .Two chickens were slaughtered after 24, 48, 72, 96, 120 and 144 hr. from each group. Samples but with little amount can be neglected while disappeared from breast muscle and thigh muscle after 120 hr . • Chloramphenicol residue was disappeared from most examined samples after 48 hr. from injection except liver and kidneys still found with inconsiderable amount. • Streptomycin residue was detected in liver and kidneys examined samples after 96 hr. from injection with permissible limit so consider as a negative . 3)Effect of heat and low Temperatures:- A) Boiling:- Half of the liver and kidney , half of breast muscle and one thigh muscle from the three groups were taken after 24 hr. post treatment. The examined samples were put in distilled boiling water at 100°C for 30 minutes. After cooling of the examined samples the detection of antibiotic residues were carried out . The results showed |
