Abstract English Abstract This study was carried out to detect crustacean parasites affecting freshwater fishes.Fish species collected were 400 Oreochromis niloticus,100 Mugil cephalus, 200 Ceprinus carpio and 300 Clarias garipinus collected seasonally, from Dakahlia, Kafr-El-Sheih and Sharkia Provinces . There was no pathognomonic signs in infested fishes except marbling of gills. Other signs and p.m. lesions was bulging operculi ,haemorrhage, abrasion, ulcers on the skin, gills appeared pale with high amount of mucous and numerous white dots on gill lamellae. The highest infestation rate was recorded among O. niloticus followed by M. cephalus, C. carpio and C. garieppinus.The isolated crustacean parasites among examined fishes were Lamproglena monodi, Ergasilas sarsi, Caligus curtus, Argulus foliaceus and Lernaea elegans.Treatment trials with different drugs,haematological and serum alteration of the infested and treated fish and hestopathological alterations were also recorded.
