Abstract Bovine tuberculosis is considered of the widespread diseases in the world and of the diseases transmitted from animal to human so early diagnosis and treatment are most important to control this dangerous disease. This thesis studied the following: 1. from 600 cattle tested by tuberculin test, 32 animals (5.3%) gave positive result. Post mortem examination carried out on 32 carcasses showed 23 have visible lesions (65.7%) while 9 failed to show any visible lesions. Bacteriological examination cleared that mycobacteria was isolated from 22 cases. 2. 465 patients were examined. Sputum samples were subjected to microscopic examination and 115 mycobacteria were isolated. 3. The sensitivity of ELISA For detection of Tuberculosis 68.7% by using bovine PPD . 4. The susceptibility test was done for 137 mycobacterial isolates from different sources for anti-tuberculous drugs (Streptomycin, Isoniazid, Ethambutol and Rifampicin) using the MOP. |
