Abstract

A total of 275 freshwater fish (100 of Clarias gariepinus ,100 of wild Oreochromis niloticus and 75 of cultured Oreochromis niloticus) collected from Autumn of 2005 till Summer of 2006 were collected alive or freshly dead randomly from Nile branch and a special fish farm at Ismailia governorate. The fishes were subjected to macroscopical and microscopical examination for metacercariae and adult fluke of digenetic trematodes. The results showed that52,47 and 07.50% in C.gariepinus, wild and cultured O.niloticus respectively, The results 0f adult fluke showed that 48, 12, 32,and32% during Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer respectively. The isolated metacercariae could be differentiated into Cynodiplostomatid, Heterophid, Prohemistomatid, Euclinostomum,Haplorchid and Clinostomum metacercaria. The isolated adult digenetic trematodes could be differentiated into Paracoenogonimus ovatus Afromacroderoides lazera, Orientocreadium lazeri, Orientocreadium batrachoides and Astiotrema reniferum, Acanthostomum spiniceps, Acanthostomum abescondatum isolated from G. I. T. of C. gariepinus.
