Abstract The present study, was carried out on 420 fish of Clarias gariepinus, they were collected from Ismailia governorate and investigated for internal parasitic diseases The clinical signs of internal parasitic diseases revealed no pathognomonic signs There were some clinical signs like emaciation, anemia, skin colour f1actuation, and abdominal distension. The parasitological examination of infested fish revealed adult trematodes from the intestine metacercariae from the musculature and liver Cestodes and nematodes from the intestines. The total prevalence among examined catfish Clarias gariepinus was 73.80% . The higher seasonal prevalence was in summer while the lowest was in winter The histopathological changes of the intestines, liver and musclature were recorded as necrotic enteritis, tickening and odema of submucosa and infiltration of inflammatory cells Numerous encysted metacerearia were embedded among the muscle bundles. The hepatic paranchyma showed numerous parasitic cystes . |
