Abstract Data obtained in this research can be summarized as follows: 1-The disease was more prevalent at low temperature ’potato regions, and rarely occurs at high temperature ones. 2- Verticillium dahliae was more prevalent than V. albo-atrum. ” 3-The highest disease index for Behira isolate of V. dahliae on potato Spunta cultivar was obtained using 7x 10 6 conidiospores/Kg. soil. 4-It was demonstrated that soil infestation immediately before planting or 15 days after planting, gained the highest percent of infection. percent infection decreased to 40.65% when soil was infested 30 days after planting and at 21.77% when , . soil was infested 45 days after planting and to 6.75% when soil was infested 60 days after planting. 5- Planting healthy and diseased potato tubers in non-infested as infested soils declared that: l-Planting healthy tubers in non-infested soil gained healthy potato plants. 2-Planting healthy tubers in infested soil resulted in late disease symptoms in potato plants. 3-Planting diseased tubers in non-infested soil gained early disease symptoms (54.6%) and late disease symptoms (23.8%). 4-Planting diseased tubers in non-infested soil gained (54.6%) early disease symptoms and (23.9%) late disease symptoms. |
