Abstract The objective of this present study was to develop a software model that able to calculate the following: water requirements for some crops, irrigation scheduling, planning and designing drip irrigation networks and evaluate existing drip irrigation networks. The study developed a software model called (OSAMA DRIP CAD). That model is divided into two phases: Osama (1) and Osama (2) programs. Osama (1) program guide the user to calculate the following: reference evapotranspiration by using different methods, water requirements for the some crops, irrigation scheduling for those crops and alternative fit planning and hydraulic design drip irrigation networks. Finally construction and total costs of each drip irrigation network. Osama (2) program could evaluate the existing drip irrigation networks. The resulted software were tested and verified in field experiment and theoretical study. The correlation coefficient values (r) between the calculated discharge and the obtained ones from the field experiment were ranged between 0.96and 0.97. After applying the software the following were the results: 1) The reference evapotranspiration values were affected both the method used in calculation and location of climatological station. 2) Water requirements values were affected both the crop and location of climatological station. 3) Design and planning of drip irrigation network were affected both the component items (dripper, diameter of lateral and manifold) and the crop type. The software proved also the following the results: 1) Cost of drip irrigation network was affected previous parameters and the unit prices of the component items. 2) The lateral length increased as lateral diameter increased. But, it decreased as dripper discharge rate increased. 3) The length of manifold increased as its diameter increased. 4) The area of drip irrigation unit decreased as dripper discharge rates increased.
