Abstract One hundred random swab samples were obtained from the surface o imported frozen packed beef and chicken crcases (Fifty sample cacti) ,were examined myeo1orical1y for presence yeast and mould contamination Moulds were in all examined samples with a mean count Th of 5.6x102 ± O.57/cnr Asper’i11ua species , :Penicil1tm spn, Cladosporcaim str0 , L1ucor spn. , Trichoderma sp00 , !ltenaria [son. , Rhizopus sot. , Geotriehum candidum , Ceoft’alosnorium [epo., Fusariun pec:Les. , Thamnidium spo., Botrytis sin. Syncephalastnim PuUu1cwpp., Sporotrichurn carnis Monilia s°v, and TTelminthonorium So0 could be isolated at I varying percentages ranging from 2% to 78% of e:ramined samples. Further identification of isolated ;Lsnerzillus h&nd Penicillium snecies were recorded as followe A: • niger A. flsavus , A. fumigtus , A sodywi , A • clavatus A. cadidus , A. versicalor , A .repans and n. ternis while Penicillium species reported were P. vernicosum var I cyclopium , P. nigerican , P.. chrysogenurn , P0 oxalicum IF. grisofulrn , P. brevicompactum , P. requeforti , I, — um ,P, viridicatum , P0 albidum and P. nulticolor all were isolated from frozen meat Frozen chicken samples examined for mould contamination |
