المستخلص

Trichinosis occupies an important place among zoonotic. parasitic diseases . Tricninosis still affects several millions all over the world , epidemics are still reported in many countries and endemic, areas are still present
In Egypt ; previously considered as trichinosis — free country , infection with Trichinella spiralis has been repeateuly reported in rodents and pigs . Moreover, human cases have been suspected and detected during the last years in a way stimulating a new trend to reevaluate the real status of trichinosis in Egypt
Rodents are considered as important zoonotic reservoirs of tricninosis The rate of T.spiralis infection in rodents is usually high and certainly bears a relation to the rates of human infection
Accordingly , this wort was planned to study the zoo — notic importance of rodents as reservoir nosts to I. spiralis in Egypt
This aim was acnieved tnrough studying the prevelance of trieflinosis in rodents and its correlation with the results of studying numan sera for T.spiralis antibodies.
