Abstract
Trauma is the leading cause of mortality and disability during the first four decades of life and is the third most common cause of death after Cardiac lesions and Malignancies.
The aim of this work was to compare the clinical diagnosis, ultrasound diagnosis with the results found during laparotomy after road traffic accidents in Bohiera Governorate, as regard retroperitoneal injuries. The study included 20 patients with blunt abdominal trauma with suspected retroperitoneal injuries. There was a male to female ratio of 3 : 1 and the ages of patients included ranged between 3 years and 45 years with an average of 19.8 years.
