Abstract
This study was undertaken to assess the effect of intralesional KTP
laser photocoagulation on the hemangiomas and venous malformation.
Fifty patients with hemangiomas and venous malformations were
treated with intralesional KTP laser during 24 months period.
All patients were subjected to:
- Full history taking and careful physical examination of the lesion to
differentiate hemangiomas and venous malformation from arterial and
lymphatic malformations.
- Routine laboratory investigation.
- Dupplex study when needed.
The therapeutic results were judged to be:
... Excellent in 34 patients as reduction in size was more than 75% ofthe
preoperative size.
’” Good in 13 patients as reduction in size was between 50% and 75% of
the preoperative size.
* Average in 3 patients with reduction in size was less than 50% ofthe
preoperative size
