Abstract

A group of volcanic and plutonic rocks represents the products of pan-African orogeny constitute the major petro-tectoic association of Wadi Abu El- Hassan area in the north eastern desart (NED) of Egypt.
These petro-tectonic unites include the island arc terrains that represented by the ,etavolcanics syn-tectonic plutontes including the order gabbros and older granditoids.
These units are followed by mature arc to continental arc Dokhan volcanics which associated in time and space with type hammamat sediments as well as widely distributed post-to late –tectonic younger granites and the post- granite dykes.
The metavolcanics are mainly represented by meta- basalt meta-andesite meta- dacite and meta- pyroclasitic that are tectonically belonging to the island arc assemblage .
Small masses of serpentinties and gabbros are enclosed within the order granitoids which are mainly represented by quartz diorites and granodiorites described tectonically as syn- tectonic plutonites
