المستخلص Four simple, sensitive and accurate spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the determination of dextromethorphan hydrobromide (DEX), Ketamine hydrochloride (KET) and Silymarin (SIL) in pharmaceutical formulations. These methods are based on the formation of ion-pair complexes with bromocresol green (BCG), bromocresol purple (BCP), bromothymol blue (BTB) and bromophenol blue (BPB). The coloured ion-pair products are extracted into chloroform or methylene chloride and measured at 419, 409, 413 and 417 nm in case of DEX, 417, 408, 412 and 416 nm in case of KET and the coloured ion-pair products are measured at 423, 418, 420 and 422 nm in case of SIL for BCG, BCP, BTB and BPB, respectively. The composition of the ion-pair were established by the continuous variation and molar ratio methods. The proposed methods were applied successfully for the determination of the studied drugs in pharmaceutical formulations and biological samples applying the standard addition method and compared statistically with the official methods. The molar absorpitivity, Sandell sensitivity, detection and quantification limits were also calculated. |
