Abstract
The present work was initiated in September 2002 and terminated in August 2004 at the laboratory of the Economic Entomology and Agricultural Zoology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Shebin El Kom, Menofia University. The objectives of the present investigations were: 1. To survey mites associated with the tested eight stored products i.e., Jew’s mallow, okra, wormseed, fenugreek, liquorice, date palm, crushed maize, cotton seed meal during 2002/2003 and with four stored products during 2003/2004. 2. To estimate population densities of mites and their fluctuations during the two successive years of study.3. To survey mites associated with three marketable dry products; cotton seed meal, date palm and wormseed during Sep. 2003/Aug. 2004. 4. To estimate population densities of mites associated with three marketable dry products and their fluctuations during September 2003/August 2004. 5. To study the species composition of the extracted mites. 6. Study the chemical analysis of four stored products and their role and correlation in the occurrence of mite populations.
