Abstract
Increasing attention has been given recently by health authorities and the public in general to the risks connected with contamination of the environment with heavy metals. The results of this study will be presented and discussed in the following four parts: Part I : Effect of seasonal variations on heavy metals contents in milk and some dairy products. Part II: The correlation between the surrounding environment and heavy metals content in the collected milk. Part III : Maximum and permissible limits and acceptable daily intake value of value of heavy metals in milk and some dairy products. Part IV: Effect of manufactural processes on heavy metals distribution in milk and dairy products.
Food safety is an issue that will remain at the forefront of the congressional and consumer group agendas. Contaminated food of animal origin with residues could be prevented from reaching consumers by eliminating contamination during production processing, transportation and storage.
