Abstract
The effect of repeated intra-muscular administration of mphenicol at a dose level of 15 mgI200 gm B.W or .ramphenicol at a dose of 15 mgI200 gm B.W given ce daily for 7 successive days in mature male rats were valuated
(he obtained results were as follows:
(A) Haematological Findings:
11-Effect on Packed cell volume (PCV):
Thiampheriicol produced a significant decrease in
V after 4 and 8 weeks.. Chioramphenicol induced a
:mt decrease in PCV after I ,2 ,4 and 8 weeks
from the beginning of drug administration
- Effect on Red blood corpusles (R.B.Cs.):
Thiamphenicol produced a significant decrease in R.B.Cs. count after 4 and 8 weeks . Chloramphenicol induced a significant decrease R.B.Cs. count after I ,2 ,4 and 8 weeks from the beginning of drug administration.
3- Effect on Haemoglobin (gm %)
Thiamphenicol produced a significant decrease in
haemoglobin (gm %) after 4 and 8 weeks
Chioramphenicol induced a significant decrease.
