Abstract
Chemotherapy of babesiasis and tr7panosomiasis play an important role in veterinary Medicine.
Diminazine Aceturate (BerenilR) is one of the
commonly used antibabesial and trypanocidal drug in vetermary practice.
The aim of this work, was to throw a light on the effect of diminazine aceturate on fertility in male rats. Biochemical as well as histopathological investigations were also carried out.
In the present work the effect of a single i.m
injection of therapeutic dose (12.6 mg/kg b.w) and double therapeutic dose (25.2 mg/kg b.w) of diminazine aceturate was studied in male rati.
• The obtained results are snmarized as follows :
1. Effect on fertility in male rata :
1— Effect on male reproductive organs weiRht.
a) Rats administered therapeutic dose (12.6 mg/kg b.w). There was an insignificant effect on weights of testes.
