Abstract

In the present work , an attempt has been made to study the effects of adrenergic receptors stimulation and blockade on gastric secretory functions under resting and stress conditions in male albino rats since their diverse effects, both on the stomach and on the centeral nervous system were found by many investigators to be controversial. Male albino rats were used in the present study as they produce consistent and reproducible results. They were allowed to fast for 24 hours before being subjected to pyloric ligation under light ether anaesthesia for collection of their gastric juice.
