Abstract
Antioxidative defenses system in cells and tissues against free radical includes the antioxidant nutrients and metalloenzymes such as GSH-PX, catalase, SOD and ceruloplasmin. The most important lipid phase antioxidant is Vitamin E. It was aimed from the current study to investigate the relationship between zinc and copper administration and lipid peroxidation as well as antioxidant status of rats.
Ninety male albino rats (200-225 gm) were used in this study. The animals were produced from Central Animal House of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University. They were housed in stainless steel cages in the biochemistry department under hygienic condition. The animals had free access to food and water through the study. Food was discontinued, but water was available twelve hours before sacrifice. Two weeks post adaptation in the departmental, the animals were segregated into three groups, 30 animals each.
