Abstract
This study was designed to investigate the change will be occur before and after long term caffeine administration on lipids metabolism in serum of male and female albino rats.
A total of 98 albino rats of average weight 140± 20 grams (49 male and 49 female) were used in the present experiment. The animals were randomly divided according to sex into seven groups for male and female, where they were separated during study.
At the end of each period (zero time, one and two month) rats from each group were sacrificed and blood sample were collected into two clean dry sterile and labeled centrifuge tubes. All samples were collected in tubes without anticoagulant where blood was used for serum separation which used for biochemical determinations of total lipids, triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDLc, LDLc, VLDLc, phospholipids and free fatty acids fractionation.
